Compress a PDF — to any size you need
Upload portals and email often take only small files. Choose how much smaller, or type the size the PDF must fit under, and Shiklo PDF finds the best quality that fits. Pictures get smaller; text stays sharp.
How it works
- Open the PDF.
- Choose Compress: Smaller (three levels), or Under a size — pick a size or type one.
- Check the size before downloading, then download. Pictures can also be made black and white, as many portals ask.
What you can do
- Three levels, or under a size you choose
- Black-and-white pictures for upload portals
- “Make it ready for” an upload portal: under a size, every page A4, properties removed — in one step
- Never larger than the file you started with
- Batch: make many PDFs smaller at once
Questions
Why does the text stay sharp?
Text and drawings are kept as they are; only the pictures inside the PDF are made smaller, and only when that clearly helps.
What if the PDF cannot get under the size?
Shiklo PDF tells you, with the smallest size it reached. Black-and-white pictures, or fewer pages, usually make the difference.
Can I compress a scanned PDF?
Yes. Scans are pictures, so they shrink the most.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Shiklo PDF works in your browser: your files are read and changed on your device and never sent to a server. A saved project stays in this browser only.
Does it cost anything or need an account?
No. Shiklo PDF is free and needs no sign-up. It works on computers and phones, and once opened it keeps working offline.
